wood: a natural antibacterial

Data collected by Dr Dean Cliver demonstrate that wood is naturally antibacterial and so is ideal for applications like kitchen surfaces and chopping boards. Didn't we know that already..? Apparently not, as the report begins with "We began our research comparing plastic and wooden cutting boards after the U.S. Department of Agriculture told us they had no scientific evidence to support their recommendation that plastic, rather than wooden cutting boards be used in home kitchens."
