bending wood veneer

The minimum internal radius of a bend in wood veneer is determined by the thickness of the individual veneers, rather than by the number of veneers or thickness of the lay-up.

Veneer laminating is generally limited to single axis bends. However, shallow dish shapes are possible, like the seat of the Flight Stool, and the Danish company Cinal (now owned by GUBI) developed a unique bending and layering technique that makes it possible to produce much deeper dish profiles.
