bamboo in black resin

Bamboo is a distinctive material. Several species have similar properties to hardwood. But it is faster growing and can be harvested every four years or so, making it a relatively sustainable and low cost alternative. It is strong, light and can be machined and joined just like conventional hardwoods.

China is the largest producer of bamboo and has used it for construction and furniture for thousands of years. Now its popularity is growing elsewhere and it is being widely used in applications like furniture, flooring and tableware.
