humble beginnings for a water bottle

Blow moulded plastic packaging, such as water bottles, are made by injection moulding a preform and then inflating it with air inside a mould. Injection moulding ensures that mechanical features, such as the screw thread, are reproduced precisely. Blow moulding is used to produce high volumes of parts with thin wall sections. This reduces the total amount of material used.
