precise paper models

Depending on the type of laser, almost any type of material can be cut, etched or engraved – have a look at glowing plastic patterns and edge glow acrylic. Very fine details can be reproduced, such as this paper scale model, because the laser does not apply mechanical pressure to the part, which would distort and break the material.

This is a vector-based cutting system: the laser follows a series of lines from point to point. The files used are taken directly from CAD data. Compatible file formats include .DXF and .DWG.
